Florida: Fun Florida, The Best Vacation on Earth For Your Money

By Paul Davis

Take my word for it, Florida is a fabulous place to vacation and get a lot of bang for your buck. I've traveled to over 50 countries and 6 continents of the world. I am very familiar with what is available for the vacationer throughout the earth.

Florida offers the most variety of things to do at affordable prices than anywhere I have seen. The sunshine state remains the number one favorite among the British and Canadians. Not to mention Florida is extremely popular among latinos across Central and South America.

Whether you like sunny beaches, world class attractions, fine dining or a luxurious place to just relax Florida is full of options. I was born in Orlando, a children's paradise, which is home to Walt Disney World, Sea World, Universal Studios, several water parks and resorts. I even dated Cinderella when working at Disney World my first summer out of high school. I have lifeguarded at Water Mania and Wetn'Wild, just two of our many water parks in Central Florida. I have surfed Cocoa Beach, New Smyrna Beach and Daytona Beach.

If you are looking for a quiet getaway, try the west coast where you can watch a romantic sunset on the beach. Clearwater, Sarasota and St. Petersburg are all favorites among retirees. The Emerald Coast around Panama City and Pensacola (even better the smaller beach towns) are delightfully charming.

Tampa is one of our fastest growing cities and home to the Devil Rays and Bucaneers if you care to take in a sporting event. Spring time in Florida is home to the boys of summer with baseball franchises across North America coming here to train before regular season. It's a fun way to spend the afternoon and see your favorite athletes all in one place.

If latin flavor is your thing, try Miami where you can move your feet to hot salsa rhythms and spicy merengue beats. A bit pretentious undoubtedly but always lively, Miami has a lot to offer.

If you like yachts and speed boats try visiting Fort Lauderdale, one of the world's largest ports. There are several cruises leaving Fort Lauderdale weekly for the Carribean which are sure to satisfy.

The Florida Keys, four hours south of Miami by car, have some lovely islands and places to visit if you just want to chill and soak up the sun.

The Florida Manatees can be seen at some of our natural springs. Air boat rides can also be found along some rivers, where you can also see some alligators and do some fishing.

These are just a few of countless things you can do to entertain yourself in the great state of Florida. By the end of the day however you'll just want to kick back and drink some fresh squeezed orange juice, have a slice of key lime pie and shoot the breeze with family and friends.
